A Performance With a Message

The Pushcart Players from Verona, NJ, performed “Happily Ever After”, a version of the Cinderella story, for the Elementary and Primary third year students. The children were encouraged by the cast members to notice where bullying occurred in the play, and they found plenty of such occurrences against poor “Ella”.
The message the students were left with: good things happen to good people. Find someone to tell if you are being bullied or ridiculed. Stand up for yourself and speak out. These messages were artfully incorporated into this variation on a much-loved ancient fairy-tale which origniated in Ancient China.
