Alum Gets Baseball Scholarship

Helping Hands
In the elementary programs, students earn acknowledgements for demonstrating responsible and harmonious behavior within the school community. These acknowledgements are then added up and students can select a priviledge that allows them to further demonstrate responsiblity throughout the school. The Beat Goes On...
Matthew Weber attended Princeton Montessori through the end of Junior II when that was the highest level of the school at the time. He went on to graduate from Princeton Day School and then Amherst College before being awarded his PhD from Princeton University in psychology and neuroscience in 2009.

Valentine's Day Celebration Details
Toddler Students: Teachers will recognize Valentine’s Day during the children’s snack time. There will not be a valentine exchange in the Toddler program.
Primary Students: Children should bring in one handmade Valentine card for reading at the Valentine’s Day celebration. The Valentine should express the child’s feelings of love for his/her family, school, teachers, animals or friends, etc....
Mexican Fiesta!
Students in the Primary Sunflower Room enjoyed a Mexican lunch for Harrison’s birthday. His mother, Denise, brought all the fixings and the children enjoyed making their own tacos.
Starting the Day with a Song
Infant, Toddler and Primary parents and students started the day off with an upbeat sing along with Mr. Mitnick. The sing along was followed by an informal coffee for parents.

A Ton of Rhyming Fun
Philip’s dad, Sean, visited the Pansy Room to read to the children during circle time. Everyone enjoyed a few laughs while listening to a funny rhyming book of short stories.
Delicious Food, Warm Community
A very special thank you to Eve Golfinopoulos for hosting the Mediterranean luncheon for parents. It was a great chance for parents from all programs to mix and mingle over a delicious lunch in the Summit room.
Parent Visitation
Parents in the Primary and Junior I programs were invited to come with their child for a special sharing time in the classroom. Happy Chinese New Year!
Sophia’s parents, Yanjun and Rulfeng, came to the Sunflower Room to talk about Chinese New Year. The New Year began on Jan. 23 and is celebrated in Asian communities with 15 days of food, firecrackers and fanfare designed to ensure that the Year of the Dragon is full of good fortune.
Elementary Students Hit the Slopes
The Elementary students had a great day skiing at Shawnee. Each winter the students take three ski trips to the mountain to participate in the Skiwee ski-school program.
A Performance With a Message
The Pushcart Players from Verona, NJ, performed “Happily Ever After”, a version of the Cinderella story, for the Elementary and Primary third year students. The children were encouraged by the cast members to notice where bullying occurred in the play, and they found plenty of such occurrences against poor “Ella”.

Learning about Korea
Kyuyoung’s parent’s visited the Sunflower room to talk about Korea. The children enjoyed listening to a story read in Korean, eating Korean rice cakes and they all received a personalized name tag written in Korean.
Reflections Exhibit at Medical Center
The Reflections exhibit is currently hanging in the hallway of the Pediatrics floor at the Princeton Medical Center. The medical director, Dr. Alicia Brennan, MD, reports that many visitors have already commented on and been impressed by the wonderful artwork.

Junior I Hosts School Spirit Day!
The Junior I students hosted School Spirit Day! They acted out a story on friendship and then they each read what friendship means to them as they placed a flower in a vase. The flowers symbolized friends coming together to form a community. Each child is a flower and together they make a beautiful bouquet!

Parents had a wonderful opportunity to come and hear from five of our alumni and three of our alumni parents at this week’s evening panel discussion. The panelists answered the audience’s many questions with thoughtful and reflective answers, remembering back to when they were students or when their children were students at the school.

Learning about Australia
Zachary’s dad, Adrian, visited the Pansy Room to teach the class about Australia. The children were amazed to learn that it is currently summer in Australia and that it is night time during our day time. Zachary’s Dad talked about Australian animals and he read a guessing game book while everyone enjoyed an Australian summer snack.

Primary Birthday Celebrations
Sam celebrated his 6th birthday with his friends in the Pansy and Rose Rooms. He read a book to the class and his mom and dad, Pat and Andrew, brought the makings for ice cream sundaes! It was a delicious birthday treat!

Intro to Art
The 2nd year children in the Tulip Room created a collage with Mrs. Golcher in the school’s Imaginarium art studio. They were so excited to share their paintings with everyone.
Building Gingerbread Houses
Mari’s mom, Rehana, came to the Tulip Room to make delicious gingerbread houses. The children enjoyed the process of constructing their houses out of graham crackers and decorating them.
A Lesson on London
Sam’s close family friend, Nina, visited the Pansy Room to talk to the children about London, England. She gave examples of the different words they use for common items, i.e., the color yellow is called “amber” and an elevator is called a “lift”. Nina’s visit ended with milk and shortbread cookies, otherwise known as “biscuits”.
